Technology Brings "Blackberry Thumb" to Business

Tip! Just look at your Blackberry as a $300 smartphones/calculator with some extra functions - and go get another hand held PC.

Technology has been responsible for some everyday wonders that expand our minds and make our lives easier?wonders that simplify redundant and monotonous tasks and keep us in constant contact. Because of these marvels though, we have also become aware of the potential harms caused by the use of technology's devices and the science of ergonomics that has helped us learn how to prevent or correct the problems caused by their repetitive use. The U.S. Department of Labor defines a MSD (musculoskeletal disorder) as an injury or disorder of the muscles, nerves, tendons, joints, cartilage, or spinal discs caused by repetitive motion and overexertion. Now MSD, RSI (repetitive stress injury), "tennis or golfer's elbow" (tendonitis) and carpel tunnel syndrome have been joined by another repetitive motion injury term, "BlackBerry Thumb"

Tip! Check yourself into H P's new state of the art 'Blackberry Smartphones Recovery' center in the Silicon Alley. After 1 week and a new handheld you should be cured of Blackberry Addiction.

BlackBerry Thumb has become an all-encompassing phrase for the overuse of small keypad devices that populate the mobile handheld world. Much like "Gamer's Thumb" has plagued the young, many tech savvy business executives and road warriors among us are now suffering from what is known as DeQuervain's disease or BlackBerry Thumb. Typing with your thumbs to answer email or record vital client contact information, even dialing your cell phone with your thumb can contribute to or cause BlackBerry Thumb.

Tip! Backup anything associated with Blackberry data and hire a software consultant to migrate everything to another platform.

The thumb is stronger than the other digits of the hand but it isn't very dexterous. The pain caused from overuse of the thumb is caused by swelling of the sheath of the tendon. Use of a stylus when typing on small keyboards or better yet investing in an external keyboard has been suggested to prevent injury. If you find you are already suffering from BlackBerry Thumb, rest of the hand and ice should help but if it doesn't you may need to consult your physician.

Tip! Slowly pry you hands off your Blackberry and proclaim that you have no addiction and hope that the bad people in the lawsuits will go away.

Lynnette Phillips, as a Certified Notary Signing Agent and Mobile Notary Public assisting in the completion of the home loan process and other sensitive document transactions, is among the road warriors mentioned in this article. Many years of office administration experience, which included intense computer use, has given her a long-time interest in the benefits to be gained by the study of ergonomics.

Smart Ways To Buying A PDA

Tip! You need accessories. These are the basic, non essential goodies that are accompanying your PDA, like a nice leather case, a spare battery, a data/recharge cable, a recharge cradle and the like.

This article was written to answer many of the most frequently asked questions on this topic. I hope you find all of this information helpful.

So you have decided that you want to buy a pda. Congratulations!

You are going to be buying a form of technology that will help you get your life organized! However, if this is going to be your first pda purchase you might find that you will gain from some pda buying tips. Let's take a look at some pda buying tips below.

PDA buying tip number one: What do you want to spend? Get a PDA at a price that you can afford. Now don't go crazy when you buy a PDA, remember more money doesn't always mean a better PDA. If you aren't sure as to what PDA is worth the money you are planning to pay, then read a variety of PDA reviews to see what others think of the product. In fact, PDA reviews can help you to successfully determine which PDA will meet any and all of your needs.

Tip! The transparent plastic cover - this one covers your PDA all around, but the screen is visible through a transparent plastic cover. This cover is very practical and it allows you to keep working on your PDA while it's still inside the cover.

PDA buying tip number two: Now these handheld PDAs come in various sizes and you should find one that you will be comfortable in handling on a regular basis. Fact, some are very tiny while there are others that are smaller than a laptop, but still considered large. If you feel you will find a tiny device comfortable then get a small device, but if you have had a repetitive motion injury or if you have a problem with your fine motor skills, a small PDA may not be the best choice for you and you may want to consider purchasing a larger PDA.

Tip! Full Internet and email capability. This is a standard feature among PDA's today, but it's worth mentioning.

PDA buying tip number three: Just to reemphasize, your PDA size and its keyboard is very important. A PDA keyboard that has keys designed too close together or are small and difficult to use can be very aggravating and no one likes to be aggravated. This is especially true for those that have problems with fine motor skills or have a repetitive motion injury. So, thoroughly examine the usability of a PDA's keyboard before you make your decision.

PDA buying tip number four: If you are planning to use your PDA for internet access, then invest in a PDA that offers wireless internet access. After all the whole idea in enjoying the use of your PDA is the portability that this product provides and using cell phone dial up, even though it is more secure, is no less cheaper than wireless access.

Tip! Your own PDA in now being repaired. This is obvious - your PDA is broken or malfunctions and it's being repaired.

PDA buying tip number five: If you expect to carry quite a few files or images on your PDA, you may want to consider buying a PDA with a larger size installed memory even though you can purchase an expanded memory card. PDAs are small, handheld devices, and there memories are a bit limited. But in the long run it is cheaper to get a PDA with sufficient installed memory and expand later if you need to than to buy one with less and buy an additional expanded memory card.

Tip! Make sure what brand of PDA you want. If you already own a PDA - that is easy.

In conclusion, if you keep these tips in mind, there is no doubt that you will easily find a PDA that is right for you. Now all you need to do is start your research and your sampling of PDAs. Visit the nearest electronics dealer to determine what PDA you want and get your life organized today!

The World Of The PDA GPS

Global Positioning System, or GPS, is the ability to track a location from anywhere in the world and then find a suitable way of getting to that location.  When GPS was first introduced to the public it had the same origins as portable phones in that it was mounted into a car and that is where it would stay.  With the introduction of the Personal Digital Assistant, or PDA, it became apparent that this GPS technology could become mobile and be offered to a wider array of customers.  Now that we have PDA GPS technology more guys can avoid having to stop and ask for directions.

One of the more complete PDA GPS systems is offered on blackberry systems by Research In Motion.  Not only is GPS offered on many models of the blackberry PDA, but blackberry has also developed software called Blackberry Maps that can take PDA GPS information and pinpoint it a little more accurately than other systems and help you find your way with a little less guessing.  With PDA GPS many people are finding that their blackberry PDAs have much more functionality than they ever could have imagined.

More Than Just The Way To Grandma’s House

A PDA GPS system offers a lot more than just a convenient way to find the golf course nearest to the hotel you are staying in.  PDA GPS, since it is portable, can also help you in case you wind up in a part of the world that you have never seen before.  Many people can get just as lost walking, or going for a leisurely hike, as they can when they go for a drive.  With a PDA GPS system you can always have the option of trying to get accurate directions to help you find your way out of nearly any situation.

The advantages to having a portable GPS system are a long list.  If you are caught up in the hustle and bustle of a busy city and you need to get to an important meeting then the GPS system can help you find alternate ways of getting to your meeting.  If you need a restaurant, hotel, or any other kind of business in the location you are at you can find any of that with GPS and then use your phone to contact that business to make any arrangements you may need to make.  GPS is quite a powerful invention and it has as many practical applications as it does life saving ones.  Team up GPS with PDA and you suddenly have the ability to help find lost hikers in the mountains or find your way to safety out of nearly any situation that you get into.
